Christina Is Best Female

Christina Aguilera beat Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Pink to win the Best Female award at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Edinburgh.

Beyonce, sitting in the audience, looked distinctly put out as Aguilera’s name was read out.

Aguilera came on stage in a succession of outrageous outfits.

“This is my show and if anyone’s going to be getting the award for showing the most skin, it’s me,” she said.

Justin Timberlake won Best Male, beating Craig David, Eminem, Robbie Williams and Sean Paul.

Collecting his second award of the night, Timberlake told the audience: “If I could have had a picture perfect night it wouldn’t have been as good as this.”

Coldplay won best group but were not there to collect the award.
