Exclusive Review: Love Profusion Vox Dub
RemixDubBoy writes: “So here’s the information regarding the new “Love Profusion” remixes.
On Saturday, I made my weekly trek to Shep Pettibone‘s club in Asbury Park, NJ.
“Love Profusion” is one of my all-time favorite songs, so when the DJ waltzed over and starts tauting me “I have the new Madonna…” I bet you can imagine my excitement!
At this point I’m doing my best to be patient, hanging out by the DJ booth waiting for his “thumbs up” to hit the dancefloor. Finally, after about an hour of waiting… the mix finally comes on.
The music isn’t very typical Ralphi Rosario, at least in my opinion. Then again, this was the dub version. Here’s what I can say. The music is very hard. I wouldn’t describe it as “hard,” although that is how many have described the mixes. He uses a lot of her whispering “I got you under my skin…” very similar to the Scumfrog‘s remix of Kylie Minogue’s “Love At First Sight.” After about 4 minutes of build-up, the music drops out and Madonna sings the chorus. It sounded so good! Let me note that Madonna did not re-record the vocals for the mix, which for the rest of the time swaps between her whispering and “you make me feel… you make me shine” vocal samples.
This Saturday I’ll be at the Roxy for Peter Rauhofer‘s new mixes! Hope this is as exciting for you as it was for me!!!”
