Lourdes co editor of The English Roses

Madonna has revealed that her six-year-old daughter Lourdes was the inspiration for her new children’s book, The English Roses.
“She’s almost seven and she’s basically my co-editor,” she told Oprah Winfrey on her American chat show, which was recorded yesterday.
Although the book’s plot is being kept secret, it is being published in 100 countries in 30 languages.
Technology has broken down language barriers so printing plants around the world can easily cope with different tongues.
Madonna, 45, will launch the book in London next Sunday and in Paris the following day.
As well as discussing with Oprah her infamous kiss with Britney Spears at the recent MTV Video Music Awards, Madonna was moved to tears by meeting the family of a young cancer victim.
She had befriended Kerri Yascheshyn, who died in February aged 17.
Helen Fraser, managing director of Penguin Books that is publishing the book in Britain, said The English Roses will “appeal to people from eight to 80”.
The book is the first of five Madonna will write. Each will feature illustrations by a different artist, whose identity will be revealed when each is published.
The novel is the singer’s first literary effort since her explicit “Sex” book in 1990.
