Washington: Looks like pop queen Madonna has buried the hatchet with Latino diva Jennifer Lopez. The Material Girl who touched 45 over the weekend, invited the fellow Leonine around for a spot of lunch, signaling the end of a long feud.
According to a report in People News, teen pop singer Britney Spears, was also invited for a ‘girls’ lunch’ on Saturday at the house, along with Madge manager Caresse Henry. A low-key family barbecue subsequently followed on Sunday.
Madonna has been known to have a special liking for Britney Spears and has been spotted in a Britters tee at an awards ceremony. She also dedicated the track “What It Feels Like For A Girl” to the young singer.
Meanwhile, J-Lo and Madge, popdom’s familiar faces, have been known to share not-so-great vibes with each other. The Latino actress had questioned Madonna’s musical talent a few years ago, which resulted in the infamous Madge snub at a Donatella Versace Christmas party, when she left the room as Lopez walked in.
But, the weekend rendezvous indicates that all is forgiven and forgotten. However, rumour mills are abuzz with speculation about the birthday bash, with friends even suggesting there is either a musical or an acting collaboration in the offing.
Much to the trio’s chagrin, all three were nominated for the coveted Golden Raspberry for Worst Actress at this year’s antidote to the Oscars, the 23rd Annual Razzie Awards.
