Madonna Revisits The Britney Kiss In Audio Form
Madonna is continuing her campaign to up her profile and boost sales of her latest album, American Life, which was received poorly by many critics. Step one was to make a Gap ad, step two was kissing Britney Spears on television and step three seems to be repackaging and remixing material for a holiday release.
Madonna’s “Remixed & Revisited” is a seven-song EP that will be in stores on November 25. The disc, which is, in some ways, a super-extended single for her new radio release “Nothing Fails” (listen for it on October 28), will, as the title suggests, remix a couple of songs and revisit Madge’s past publicity stunts.
The remixes include the aforementioned “Nothing Fails,” plus a selection of other songs from American Life. Madonna also digs up an old, previously unreleased song called “Your Honesty,” which was recorded in 1994 as part of the sessions that made up the lackluster Bedtime Stories album.
As for the revisiting, Madonna goes out of her way to remind everyone about that Britney kiss by including the medley of “Like A Virgin” and “Hollywood” that she, Spears and Christina Aguilera sang at this year’s MTV Video Awards. There’s also something called “Into The Hollywood Groove” featuring Missy Elliott, which will surely bring back memories of the now familiar Gap ad.
