Madonna’s book set to hit shops
Madonna’s first children’s book is being launched with a celebrity tea party on Sunday, ahead of its global release the next day.
The English Roses is expected to have one of the biggest launches of the year before being published in 100 countries and 30 languages on Monday.
Many of the star’s celebrity friends and their children are expected to be at the party in Kensington, West London, on Sunday.
The English Roses is one of five books – aimed at children over six – that Madonna will write in a deal with publisher Penguin.
Each book is based on Hebrew texts from the Kabbalah religion and each will feature the work of a different, celebrated illustrator.
“Champagne, tea and an afternoon of fun-filled entertainment” will be on offer for the guests during the party at Kensington Roof Gardens.
More than a million copies will be on sale around the world the following day.
US publisher Callaway Editions said it would be the “widest simultaneous multi-language release in publishing history”.
