Don’t you think Madonna‘s best song is This Used To Be My Playground? Actually, it’s not as good as Deeper And Deeper, but still, early-1990s Madonna, when she was first down in those doldrums, is worth some considered reappraisal. Maybe listen to Erotica for the length of time it takes you to digest our sage advice today. But don’t watch A League Of Their Own – renting Swept Away may be the current ironic-Saturday-night-in-thing, but her baseball film is rotten. The style, however, is hot – retro sport Americana is big news, and those high-waisted flirty skirts are strong for late summer. Other baseball news: Converse and hi-tops are totally the footwear of the moment.
