Ritchie Goes West
British filmmaker Guy Ritchie has temporarily shelved his plans for Revolver, a controversial film featuring the beliefs of kabbalah, in favour of a Civil War-era drama for a major studio.Madonna‘s husband has accepted an offer from Columbia to direct Six Shooters, a Western robbery film described as being in the vein of Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid, according to reports in Hollywood. Filming is expected to begin in March.
Ritchie was reportedly having trouble obtaining financing for Revolver because of the script’s references to kabbalah, the mystic Jewish doctrine which he and his wife have embraced.
Six Shooters takes place in the last days of the Civil War and focuses on a mixed band of thieves’ plans to rob trains containing the Confederate gold reserves.
