Sky Fits Gap

When Ray of Light came out, there were some rumours that Madonna had to pay copyright fees to use certain frases in the song “Sky fits heaven” she co-wrote with Patrick Leonard. Part of the lyrics were definately too similar to the ones used on a 1993 Us tv commercial by, guess whom, GAP.
In Sky fits Heaven, Madonna says:

“Sky fits heaven, so fly it
That’s what the prophet said to me
Child fits mother, so hold your baby tight
That’s what my future could see

The Gap ad used the following words by poet Max Blagg:

“Sky fits heaven, so ride it
Child fits mother, so hold your baby tight
Lips fit mouth, so kiss them”
