Up for Grabs – Movie Version
From our London Reporter Mata HariMore front cover pics and very positive article in the tabloid magazine “New” today.
The same magazine also features this article:
It would appear that there is no discouraging Madonna from working as an actress. The singing superstar, who saw her last effort, Swept Away, go straight to video – despite it being directed by huby Guy Ritchie– is keen to get back in front of the cameras again. And this time she is taking no chances. My spies reveal that Madge has bought the rights to her last successful acting job, the West End play Up For Grabs. Madonna has beaten off the likes of Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts for the rights – a brave move as, while the play was a major sell-out success, it was not welcomed by the fierce London critics. Madge, however, see this as a breakthrough movie and would like hubby Guy Ritchie to step in as director.
I can also reveal that a very secret video of the play exists, but Madonna is not keen to release it as she wants to broaden out the story of a cut-throat art dealer who eventually loses everything.
And having seen Madonna in the West End, I think at last she could have a hit movie…
Also, again in “New” magazine there is a reader’s poll of the 50 sexiest celebs, 25 top male and 25 top female. Madonna comes in at #21.
More to come later in the day from Mata Hari.
