2004 Honorary Awards
The Music Video Production Association (MVPA) is proud to announce the winners of the 2004 Honorary Awards, which recognize superb talent and exceptional accomplishments in music video production. This year’s award winners are David Fincher, Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry.
The recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award is David Fincher. David is a pioneer in the art of music videos and his visual legacy continues to inspire multiple generations of filmmakers. The MVPA, along with Eastman Kodak are proud to honor him with this award.
David Fincher began his career at the age of 18, working at Industrial Light and Magic. By 1983, he began directing TV commercials and music videos. His commercial clients include Adidas, AT&T, Budweiser, and Nike. David has directed music videos for artists including Madonna, The Rolling Stones, and
Sting. In 1987 he founded Propaganda Films with Dominic Sena, Greg Gold, and Nigel Dick, and has gone on to direct several memorable feature films including: “Panic Room”, “Fight Club”, “The Game”, “Seven”, and “Aliens 3”.
