A report from our Runawayboy
Our friend and Team Member Runawayboy is back from the Us with some interesting facts about what was rehearsed by Madonna and her band while preparing the setlist for the tour.
His reliable sources have confirmed that the final set list was ready and decided months ago. Order of some the songs in the third section has been slighty changed, but all the songs you hear on the show today, except one, were already decided in April.
The song that was changed was a rocky version of Dress You Up in favour of Material Girl, just as MadonnaTribe told you before the show debuted.
Like A Prayer was in the setlist before Don’t tell Me for a while. The latter was followed by the cover of Image and Mother and Father while Crazy For You was originally put between Music and Holiday before considering that a slow song would have interrupted the energetic finale, so Crazy For You was put before Music.
Bedtime Story and Hollywood were first rehearsed as a live songs, but then it was opted to use them for a video interlude.
Madonna‘s entrance on stage to sing Vogue has been considered and studied as the first live song since the start. The complicated choreography that sees a fresh Madonna dancing and going up side down in yoga poses was only possible at the beginning of the show, so the gossip about the possibility of Vogue being the encore was definitely not true, just like the possibility of different encores in each concert was something very unlikely to happen.
Runawayboy has also been informed that the first four songs of the show are each somehow linked to one of the sections that are coming up next and somehow intended as a preview of what’s instore for the rest of the concert.
