A tour that brought memories back
As silly as this sound I find myself compelled to congratulate and thank
you all. As a child I was a big Madonna fan. My walls ceiling and door
were covered in pictures and drawings. I lived and breathed her and her
music.
I grew and other interests developed. Madonna and posters were
put in the loft, never to be seen again; or so I thought. My boyfriend
kept asking me if I wanted to see her tour. I said no as her new music
wasn’t “Madonna” to me and I would rather spend the money else where.
He ignored me, (like all fella’s do) and I found myself travelling to
Paris on a bus full of hysterical “wannabes” I was more thrilled at
the prospect of going to Paris for a few days. Once in the hotel it
became apparent to me that I was the only one who had these feelings.
The day of the concert arrived and we received our tickets. Every one
had paid the same price as it was an organised trip. Our ticket said
“restricted View“. This is where It all changed. I went loopy. I was
totally gutted that I was to be stuck behind a wall or some thing and
not see. My breathing became very erratic and I was very unpleasant to
anyone who dared even look at me. The whole coach had different
tickets. Mothers and daughters were separated husbands, wives, friends.
It was ridiculous. To rub salt in my raw wound the driver of the bus
could not find the entrance to the venue. I was so emotional. I
displayed a calm face as us grown ups must, but inside I had just died.
By the time we got there the amount of people was unreal. I have never
seen that many people in my whole life. Our ticket pointed us to a
little back door. No one was waiting to go in! My stomach sank several
times, and I fought back the tears. We walked in. It was dark and cold
and then the MAGIC began. I couldn’t believe it. Looking around I saw
our seats curled around the stage and where high enough to give you an
amazing view, also to my right a huge screen hung in the air. That
would later show Madonna on stage, her every move. When it all started
it didn’t know where to look first. The views were spectacular! I
could see every thing.
I will never have the vocabulary to explain and
expand on just how fantastic it was. For that I am so very sorry but
believe me it ranks as one of the best days of my life. That’s where
the thanks comes in. To all of you who took photos and wrote about the
Tour. Thank you. Thank you for the effort you all put into this site.
When I feel low I log on an those feelings comes back. I feel
weightless like a child once more. You have opened my eyes and soul once
again to life and the joys it brings, and Madonna who actually fits in
to my views and thoughts of life now. It was a truly spiritual evening.
I felt peace for man kind and saw how beautiful the world can be and I
rocked my socks off. Thank you. X
This site gives you an amazing
journey. Its like been in my bedroom with my posters and it feels
great. The concert was beautiful and once again I am a huge fan, stuck
in an adult world. Until I log on. Thank you. All of you. “Dreams
really do come true“.
