After Madonna, Dolce & Gabbana to work with Beyonce and Missy
After their experience with Madonna on her 1993 Girlie Show, Dolce & Gabbana takes center stage once more! Beyonce and Missy Elliott chose them to create exclusive tour wardrobes for their separate performances that are part of the first ever Verizon “Ladies First” Tour 2004. Each wardrobe consists of exclusive one-of-a-kind looks that are instantly recognizable as Dolce & Gabbana, while perfectly reflecting both of these top performers’ distinctly different styles.
The tour kicked off in Fort Lauderdale on March 12th, with Missy Elliott opening the show in a Dolce & Gabbana custom black nylon parachute jumpsuit with Swarovski logo trim. Missy Elliott defines her sharp style in three unique Dolce & Gabbana looks that include embellished denim and tailored separates in black, silver and white for a graphic visual punch.
Beyonce emerges as a modern day Cleopatra in a Dolce & Gabbana gold Swarovski mesh gladiator mini skirt and top, embellished with rich embroidery and emerald stones. Her dancers’ wardrobe is also by Dolce & Gabbana, creating a breathtaking visual synergy on stage. Beyonce and her dancers have five wardrobe changes that celebrate color, femininity and sensuality, clearly representing Beyonce’s spirit as a performer.
Dolce & Gabbana has a long-standing relationship with the music industry that began in 1993 when Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were asked to design the wardrobe for Madonna‘s “Girlie Show” World Tour. Since then, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have gone on to design show-stopping wardrobes for some of the world’s top performers, including Whitney Houston, Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys, Kylie Minogue, Dido and *N Sync.
