Arnhem’s report by Mador
MadonnaTribe reader Mador was in Arnhem yesterday ofr the first Dutch gig of Madonna’s Re-InventionTour. This is his story.
“Hello Boys and girls I’m Mador, I come from Belgium and I had the chance to experience my second Re-Invention in Arnhem last night after Paris-Bercy this Saturday.
I was there with three friends and we had a great time in Holland!!! I was wearing a kilt for the occasion and let me tell you… it feels so good to be scottish for a day!
Many people were wearing non-official pink and blue cow-boy hats available at the shops all around the venue (I’ve never seen so many merchandising stands at a concert ).
The show was of course fantastic and I think it’s better to see it several times to capture a maximum of the imagery on the screens. But I think the mood was a bit more festive in Paris despite the incredible big crowd here. There was more interaction between our queen and the french crowd. After all it’s a long love-story between them ! Maybe the Gelredome here was too big for this show according to me.
I had a general view of the venue from my seat and the place was sooooo big. The stage and the screens were looking a bit small from the back or even the middle of the venue but it wasn’t a problem for the material girl who made another great performance this time.
The highlights? Vogue (with the gold corset), Material girl, Nothing fails (what a fantastic feeling to see all the people clapping their hands during the chorus), Like a prayer (the best moment according to me), and of course the scottish part where my kilt and I did our best to help people all around my section to get Into the groove.
I think she had a little problem with the words during Music.
Madonna didn’t speak that much, only the classic lines and she presents some excuses for waiting so long before coming back to Holland.
In general she really enjoyed herself ! I was just a bit disapointed she used once again the french theme during Don’t tell me, I’ll never experience the Bittersweet Symphony one but maybe on the DVD ?
At the end,my dutch neighbours of the evening were very astonished to see no encores, they were waiting sadly in vain while the lights went back…even if it’s not a problem for me, I think Mrs Ritchie should think about that for the next tour and we all hope there will be another one…
Thanks to my great french fan-friend Valery for sharing her passion with me in Paris and Arnhem.
By the way, if they read this soon, a big hello to two german fans who were waiting with me in the queue before entering into the Gelredome this wednesday.Hope you had a great time mister tony ward !!!!
Last but no least, thank you to Madonna for her talent and the emotions she gives us with her music.
Kiss to all the tribers
