Bloodhounds of Broadway DVD
Bloodhounds of Broadway – the film starring Madonna and a whole bunch of hollywood actors such as Matt Dillon, Julie Hagerty, Randy Quaid, Jennifer Gray, Esai Morales and Rutger Hauer – will be finally released in the Us on Dvd on May 4th 2004.
This nice little film, set in New York City on the new year’s eve of 1928 was directed in 1988 by Howard Brookner is based on four short stories by Damon Runyon (1880 – 1946).
“The Bloodhounds of Broadway” (1931), “A Very Honorable Guy” (1929), “Social Error” (1930), and “The Brain Goes Home” (1931) that were blend together to create a full lenght film, produced for a limited cinematic release in 1989 by the American Playhouse and later distributed on video by Columbia Pictures.
Madonna plays Hortence Hathaway a “material showgirl” that in the movie dances to the classic song “The Mooch” and covers with co star Jennifer Gray the Bing Crosby song “I surrender Dear“.
The Zone 1 Dvd edition of
Bloodhounds of Broadway is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and English Dolby Digital. and no extra material is going to be included in this release that has a suggested price of $24.96.
