‘Cause the drive is near
Do you remember the Chevrolet Corvette commercial that Guy Ritchie directed in New York in the days of the MSG shows of the re-Invention Tour?
The time is now near since the Olympics coincide with the launch of the new sports car – which goes on sale this fall – and General Motors is the only U.S. automaker with rights to advertise on NBC during the Games.
Guy Ritchie directed a 60-second commercial for the Corvette, featuring a schoolboy daydream of a magical ride in the sports car.
None of the Chevrolet ads follow Olympic themes, but rather highlight aspects of the vehicle. GM’s Chevrolet ads, which use the slogan “American Revolution,” were created by Campbell-Ewald.
