Crazy Arnhem from the PIT
Triber Madder81 was so lucky to get in the PIT at the second Re-Invention tour show in Arnhem and sent us his story.
“Hi Tribers,
I want to share my PIT-experience with you! I´m from Germany and had already been to the first Paris show and the first one in Arnhem, both were great fun, but it definitely nothing compares with what happend at September 9th.
I had come all alone to Gelredome, where the concert would take place and on my way around the venue I noticed a sign, saying that PIT-ticket competetion winners should meet there at 6:30 pm. I had a very good seating ticket but nevertheless preferred a PIT-pass, so I waited there. And what can I tell? I was one of the lucky ones get in! I thought I´d die that very moment, but how good that I wasn´t!
The girl, who was in charge of the pit-tickets, was very funny and set us all in the right mood. She told us all about the PIT and how to behave: that we could leave the PIT at any time we wanted, except for two times, when dancers need to pass this way, she also told us, that we could do everything we wanted: drink, eat, even f*ck, yes, she said that too.
The most important rules are not to grab for anyones and or touch the stage, which I understand now, because Madonna and her dancers get unbelievably close at some times of the concert.
We were then led into the pits, I was in the left one and we were all heavily nervous. We walked behind the stage and could see all the amazing equipment, like drums and guitas. When the lights went out at around 9 pm the party was going to start.
With the first sounds of “The Beast Within” on everybody wnt totally wild. We screamed, danced, clapped our hands and just felt like one big PIT family.
So now a few things about the show. Madonna was in an amazing mood, she smiled to us, her crew members and everybody was just having fun, which was possible because this was the last show not to be filmed. So there were some new elements in the show, you might have already heard about.
During “Frozen” a mechanic had to come on stage to fix something on the floor, I don´t know if that happens every time, I hadn´t noticed anyone before.
In “American life” the crew behind the stage had prepared some jokes. They displayed themselves on the small video screens on stage (the ones that Madonna stands on at the beginning of the song). I don´t think anybody except the pit dancers would have noticed. They show a fat guy who liftet his shirt showing us, waht he had written on his stomach: “Video screeners do it better” 😉 Some other crew members were shown too.
During “Burning up” it was Monte who licks Madonna´s guitar but still the scene ended up in laughter.
Differnt from the show before, this time it was “Bittersweet Symphony” during “Don´t Tell Me“. At the end of the song Madonna seemed overwhelmed by the audience who screemd like mad! She turned there back to them an showed her middelfinger to her keyboarder and had an evil smile on her face. Our pit went wild over that ;-).
As you have already read on Madonnatribe, during “Papa Don´t Preach” there were now male dancers in way too small T-Shirts.
In “Music” and “Holiday” I totally lost it: the dancer came to us to handshake and backing singer Siedah really made us hot. She celebrated with our PIT.
I´m also sorry that I cannot tell you what Madonna said during the show, but I simply didn´t understand it.
This was the most amazing evening of my live, my best Madonna experience ever, and I cannot imagine how this could be topped. Thanks to the hole crew for making this possible!
On the pic I send you, you can see me PIT-Band (or whatever it is called 😉 Don´t know the English word)
By the way: I registeres today on MadonnaTribe as Madder81, maybe you´d like to publish my report.
Thanks for doing such a great work you Tribers!
Stay the way your are,
Madder81
Thanks Madder81 for sharing your experience and welcome in the Tribe!
