Detroit “Home Town” press on Madonna in Israel

Her Madge-sty, that would be Michigan-bred but British-affected Madonnais thinking about performing in the war-wracked Middle East this summer as part of her first world tour in four years. The exact exotic venue: Solomon’s Pillars in the southern Arava desert of Israel.

Madonna’s spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, told the New York Daily News “Nothing has been confirmed. Not even the tour.” But she says a stop in Israel is “definitely under consideration.”

Why Israel? Her affinity for the mystical Jewish teachings of the Kabbala, mostly.
