Dita’s Little Lamb Manchester experience
Our dear friend Dita’s Little Lamb has sent us her unforgettable experience attending both concerts in Manchester the other weekend – sorry for taking so long to put it up!
“I still couldn’t believe I had won front row tickets on Century FM the day before. My mate came with me (who was absolutely thrilled that I had asked her to join me). We both wore cowboy hats (I wore blue, she wore black), and I was wearing my Madonnatribe t shirt with pride.
We went into the arena, got to the top of the steps and my legs turned to jelly. My mate had to hold round me as we walked down the steps. We got to the bottom and the stewards asked to see our tickets. He grinned at us and said “I think you’ll be having a good night”. He then took us to our seats (up until this moment I still didn’t believe that I was in the front row). I just looked at the stage and kept on saying “I don’t believe it”.
About 10 minutes a guy came up to me and saw my t shirt, it was lng!!! He’d come all the way from Singapore to see Madonna! I thought that was really amazing. We chatted for about 15 minutes. After chatting to my mate I then went to see lng and had another chat. Then a girl came up to me and saw my t shirt, it was wannabe! We chatted and then lng pointed out 2 more tribers in the audience. I went over to them and it was the one and immaculate!!! They had come from Italy.
I went back to my seat. My mate was talking to a girl who said she had read my post on the forum on Friday. She congratulated me and said that she had been to see Madonna in Atlanta. A few minutes later a guy came up to me and it was tonybecks! It was great to put faces to people on this forum!
At 8.45 pm the show started and as The Beast Within was playing I started to lose my composure, my mate put her arm around me and said “Keep It Together”. I calmed down and watched as my idol stood about 6 feet away from me! The show was amazing and the best part for me was when Madonna sang Deeper And Deeper, she moved to the front of the stage, cam right up to where I was standing, looked straight at me and sang the chorus to me, then winked and smiled at me and walked off to the side of the stage!!! I nearly fainted. My mate said “OMG that was for you”!!! It was just an amazing night. Another emotional part was when Madonna dedicated CFY to us fans that had supported her for the past 20 years, ‘cos I’m one of them!!
Sunday 15th August
I met up with some more tribers and handed out loads of “Sing Happy Birthday to Madonna” flyers outside McDonalds and then outside the arena. A lot of people seemed genuinely interested in what we were aiming to do. It certainly paid off because after Papa Don’t Preach, Siedah Garrett, one of Madonna’s backing singers, announced that it was Madonna’s birthday the day after and then everybody sang to Madonna. She seemed genuinely moved and then gave a speech. I was very emotional at this point! When Madonna sang the last song, Holiday, I started dancing on the steps at the back of the arena! My husband was very good considering he has to put up with my Madonna obssession every day!!
After being a huge fan since 1984, this has to be the best weekend ever. 2 fantastic concerts performed by my idol who I will never tire of. I will never forget it as long as I live. I am still on my cloud nine. This has been a dream come true.”
A huge thank you to Dita’s Little Lamb for sharing her experience with the Tribe. It was great to meet you in Manchester!
