Do you know what Italians do better? Do you? Sing, that’s what we do better.
Here’s our first review from Chicago by our Triber Victor.
“As soon as the lights darkened at the United Center, I completely froze, the screens started along with The Beast Within. As TBW went on, the cheers were louder and the energy was felt throughout. Madonna appeared, my skin full of goosebumps with chills and hot sweats, Vogue and Nobody Knows Me got everyone going and the whole arena was on its feet.
At one point, can’t really remember what song, Madonna yelled out, “Damn, Chicago got soul!” and the audience went crazy. She also yelled out to the front rows, “What you drinkin’ there? Thanks for sharing!” wich was really funny.
Later she yelled out, during American Life (I think), “C’mon fuckin’ Midwest. I’m from the Midwest too and I’ll fuckin’ kick your ass.” During the end of Don’t Tell Me, she yelled out, “Why you taking my words?” and the audience sang louder and louder extending the end of the song much longer. For Papa Don’t Preach, she wore the “Italians Do It Better” t-shirt, and yelled out very tongue-in-cheek, “Do you know what Italians do better? Do you? Sing, that’s what we do better.”
Madonna was full of energy and really was enjoying the show and crowd throughout the night, she really sang Mother and Father and Lament with a lot of heart, Imagine brought me to tears, and Into the Groove was a lot of fun. I yelled my head off throughout the concert, danced on my feet non-stop, and met a cool cute guy from St. Louis that was sitting next to me.
Music and Holiday ended the show with the energy really high and the whole arena was completely enjoying it.
The videos are amazing to see, how the stage transforms is really cool, the dancing and particularly her voice was incredible. The show seemed to be completely perfect without anything going wrong. It does goes by really quickly, but you’re left completely satisfied. My sister, who I went with, said it was a mind-opening experience and felt peace following the show.
The view from Section 111, Row 14, Seat 5 & 6 was great, and overall the show can’t be campared to anything else. This was my first Madonna concert by the way!”
Special thanks to Victor
