Elton Vs. Madonna, Round II

Now that Elton John‘s statements at the Q Awards, claiming that Madonna lip-syncs her concerts, have caused a stir amongst many, think the Rocket Man is ready to back off of his comments? Think again.

“You know, I just said what I said and I’ve been meaning to say it for a long time,” Sir Elton told Access Hollywood at a co-benefit for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation. “It was probably a bit unfair on Madonna, because a lot of people lip sync worse and their whole show is lip synced… her show is not wholly lip-synced but there’s an element to it.”

While Elton may have softened the blow just a bit since his initial tirade, he’s still not backing down, although he didn’t quite want to elaborate either.

“Madonna is a great artist, she’s a great writer, she’s a great performer, she makes great records and I just want to leave it at that,” he said.
