Evita Ad

Our friend Dye Another Day wants to share another interesting scan from his collection and some tidbits:

“Since the Golden Globe nominations were announced this week in the U.S. (and elsewhere, obviously), I thought this would be a good time to share my scan of Madonna‘s promo that ran in the trade papers. It is routine to run these ads for a nominee, it’s sort of a “congratulations” run by the studio.
In the end, Madonna of course won her well-deserved Best Actress for “Evita.” She was the last celebrity to walk the red carpet that night, accompanied by Carlos Leon. She said she was late because she wanted to feed Lourdes Maria until the last possible moment before leaving for the awards. She was presented her award by Nicole Kidman, who, ironically, also presented Madonna’s ex-husband Sean Penn his Golden Globe for “Mystic River” about seven years later.”
