It has been so long since former Michael Jackson friend and “Kosher Sex” expert Rabbi Shmuley Boteach was a celebrity, I almost miss him.

But he has resurfaced – in the Jerusalem Post – to castigate Madonna, now on her “Re-Invention Tour,” for being “a slut,” and to fault the Kabbalah movement (of which Madonna is a high-profile member) for “having a slut as its principal representative.”

In response, Madonna rep Liz Rosenberg yesterday told MSNBC.com: “I find Rabbi Boteach’s comments regarding Madonna frightening … His vile attacks on her character and as an artist are staggering for someone who professes to be a religious person.”

Boteach’s reply: “Women like Liz Rosenberg, especially, who have greatly distinguished themselves professionally through their brains rather than their busts, should be at the forefront of criticizing Madonna’s assault on feminine dignity.”

Rosenberg’s retort: “The last time I looked, my chest was quite fabulous.”
