Fan Report from Atlanta
Here’s one more Tour Report with pics from our friend Tony who went to see Madonna in Atlanta on July 25.
“Well, for starters, the security lady noticed I had a disposable camera, but my sister got her’s in. We were so excited that we just snapped a whole lot of pictures. Once we got into Phillips Arena, we went crazy and bought a whole lot of memorabilia. I got two shirts, a tourbook, keychain, two wristbands, five posters (they were selling ones I haven’t even seen on FanFire. I think they were unofficial, but they were still cool), and I snagged a lot of memorabilia booklets and a few Donna DeLory cards.
I also walked away with some confetti from HOLIDAY! My sister got three shirts.
My only complaint about the show is that our whole row wasn’t even standing, and the guys behind us were actually wanting us to sit down. How rude, why were they AT a Madonna concert in the first place?? A bunch of people who just “liked” M. No true freaks that we encountered in our section. Oh, and I think one of them actually tried to smack me in the head when I stood up during MUSIC.
I just turned around and gave him the “WHAT THE F*CK DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?” look and he slumped downward into his chair. Although, we warned everyone that we would scare them once the show started, which was 45 minutes late. Damn, I was SO worried I’d miss some of the show when I went to the bathroom prior to TBW. I DID miss the end of DAD, LAMENT, and the beginning of the BS video when we tried to beg for better seats. We didn’t get them, and when we got back, my sister had to search all over hell’s half acres for her wallet. Luckily, a girl two seats down from me found it on the railing.
Other than those few misfortunes, my seats in 312 were a lot better than I thought they would be. We had a good view of the stage, but I just wish I was one of those in the VIP pits or on the floor. There were four or so drag queens who got all the attention in the first row. Anyhoo, below are the pictures that turned out the best.
The first pictures are from VOGUE. As soon as she graced her presence upon that platform, I was in disbelief that I was ACTUALLY at a M concert! I didn’t know how to react. It was “just like a dream,” and VOGUE was awesome.
The next picture is from AMERICAN LIFE – another great performance. I managed to get a pretty good shot of the catwalk that extended over the first few rows of the floor – lucky devils!!
The fourth picture is from EXPRESS YOURSELF. By this time, me and my sister were up, dancing and singing along to M herself.
The following picture is from the HOLLYWOOD instrumental. I wanted to send you this because I haven’t seen too many pictures from this performance. It was pretty cool even though M wasn’t on stage. There was a guy with fire, a guy in tophat that danced, one of the backup dancers (Reshma Gajjar, I believe) did an Egyptian-like dance on the platform M used for such songs as NKM, a skateboard artist, etc.
Our film ran out during DEEPER AND DEEPER. I didn’t enjoy this one that much and would’ve rather heard the album/dance version. Although, still a nice twist to the song, and I still couldn’t believe I was at a M concert!”
Special thanks to Tony and his sister for sharing this memories with The Tribe
