Farewell to a genious
French composer Michel Colombier died on Sunday at 65 after a six month battle with cancer.
Colombier was one of the most prolific and versatile French musicians of his generation, film composer since the early 1960’s, song writer and arranger. He worked with artists such as Prince, The Beach Boys, Paul Anka, Barbra Streisand and Earth Wind and Fire.
Colombier‘s very special touch can be heard in the strings he arranged and conducted for Madonna in songs such as Don’t Tell Me, Die Another Day, Easy Ride and Nothing Fails, as well as in the original score of the Guy Ritchie movie Swept Away.
