Fashion Dos and Dont’s at the Grammies
As with any showbiz bash, at the 46 Grammy Awards there were belles of the ball – and a couple of mingers.
Madonna looked slim and youthful in a bright-pink silk dress and black knee-high boots.
Don’t let the artist who did your make-up out of your sight, Madge – he or she took about ten years off you.
Beyonce could do no wrong. She looked like a Fifties movie star in a skintight turquoise fishtail gown as she took to the stage. The Queen of the Grammys was also the picture of elegance in a gold satin number with a matching necklace.
She also showed off her racier side – and those thighs – in a short, sequined shocking-pink frock with a fun feathered hem.
Christina Aguilera looked stunning in a baby pink satin dress with a plunging neckline.
But it is a pity she has a sponsorship deal with Coca-Cola – she is wearing so much fake tan she looks like she’s been Tangoed.
Pretty Jennifer Love Hewitt dazzled, too, in a strapless red dress with a side slit which showed off her legs.
Alas, not everyone got it spot on. For the first time I can remember, Kylie Minogue looked … dare I say it, dowdy. The pop princess wore a minimum of make-up and outfits that failed to excite.
Bring back the hotpants and lipgloss, Kylie.
Sack your stylist right now, Miss Alicia Keys. White pedal pushers and half of a peach dress on top? Pur-lease.
Mary J Blige did her best impersonation of a canary in what can only be described as a monstrosity.
They say yellow and green are in fashion. Not like this they’re not.
