Guy pays the bill
Are stars expected to tip more at restaurants than regular people?
A barely scientific Answer B!tch poll indicates that New York waiters expect more than the standard 15 percent when dealing with celebrities. My office’s crack team of research assistants has also found that waiters rarely get that money and instead come complaining to me.
If they must deign to pay, most celebs tip no more than 15 percent at Allaham’s just opened Solo, already a favorite of Madonna’s. And how does she tip?
Well, pay attention, people! She doesn’t foot the bill – at all!
In this odd case, neither does the entourage, actually. Instead, Allaham dishes, it’s hubby slash poor man’s Quentin Tarantino Guy Ritchie who shells out for our warbling, religiously mismatched pop star.
“Madonna’s husband is extremely generous,” says Allaham, who has also hosted Donald Trump, Bono and billionaire New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg in recent weeks. “I would say Guy tips 25 percent on average, which makes him an exception among the celebrity set. He’s a nice fellow, too.”
