Guy Ritchie’s Corvette Ad airs
You may remember photographs of Guy and Rocco Ritchie during the filming of a new Corvette ad for General Motors some time ago
Debuting yesterday, the Corvette commercial was the centerpiece of GM’s $60 million Olympics advertising push.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, Madonna’s husband and director of the movie “Snatch,” the commercial follows the daydream of a young boy who imagines driving and flying the Corvette through a city. The commercial ends with the boy on a playground holding a skateboard while looking at a parked Corvette. A voiceover calls the vehicle “the official car of your dreams.”
GM executives said the Olympics ad blitz was a natural choice because of the large number of affluent viewers.
“The Olympics are the largest event of the summer, and they draw the nation’s attention for more than two weeks,” said Kim Kosak, Chevrolet general director for advertising and sales promotion. “It’s a great place to celebrate the arrival of the new Corvette.”
