Here comes number 35
More stories from London. This is one is by our reader Anthony.
“After 20 years my dream came more than true…
I had been working in town, was meant to be til 6, but snuck out early, and managed to make it into the queue for 4:30am…at this point I was number 35 in line. Firstly, thanks to all the gr8 fans that made the waiting such a fantastic and exciting time, sharing such wonderful stories over many years.
The day seemed to fly so quickly. It didnt seem like long until we were in the building, and Madonna was just a curtain away… on the other side…reading her book to the kids… then it was our turn.
One by one we went in… I remember each person walking out after meeting her… they all seemed like in total shock…it was so exciting knowing it was my turn any moment.
I walked into the room… with 4 people in front of me… I could see her sat in front of me talking away, and smiling… it felt like i was watching a giant screen…but my heart was racing knowing it was for real…then it happened… it was MY TURN!
I approached, and she turned and looked me in the eye… I held her gaze, and i put my hand out, which she gladly shook… as she did she said “you have the most fabulous tattoos”..thank you I said… then she had read what was on my t-shirt ( I’d rather be partying, it says)… she said, “would u rather be partying right now?”… I said… I always love to party… then it felt like forever and she held her gaze with me.
I froze, and just blurted out how are you? she said “good thanks and you”. I just said i was so nervous… and she said i had no reason to be… then I seem to waffle on about I had been working all night, and came str8 down after… she asked what I did, and where… and of course I told her… it felt like I was chatting for a lifetime… so much so… that one of her assistants then turned to her and said… Madonna you have to stop talking for so long… she replied with “I love talking” she then said would i like a book… I of course said yes…and then a huge thank you… I reached out my hand, and she gladly shook it AGAIN!!… I said goodbye, and so did she…
I walked out, and the tears rolled down… I had experienced way more than I had ever dreamed of.THANK YOU Madonna, you have made so many peoples dreams come true… and thanks to all the gr8 fans… keep up the good work!!”
