Here’s a re-INVENTION tour experience from the Philadelphia show of July 4th by our reader Denise
“Hello! First off I want to say what a GREAT web-site. I check it out every
day. Well I was at the Philly Show on the 4th of July. And I was lucky enough
to be in the pit. I planted my self in the front corner closes to the crowd
and did not move. I won the Pit Passes through a contest on a local radio
station in Lancaster, PA. I had to complete a scavenger hunt and find 13
things that related to Madonna songs. I competed against 2 other people and
kicked their butts. This was truly the most incredible thing in my life.
Before the show began from where I was standing in the pit I watched Madonna
do her warm up stretches before going under the stage to come out. Right in
front of me was where the floor opened up and her dancers came out. So when
that was open I could look under the stage and see her waiting to come out.
When she first came out I almost passed out because it was surreal to me to
be that close to some one that I have admired for so long. I have been along
time fan and this was a dream come true. Her dancers are amazing. I agree
with the earlier post about how hard they all work and the sweat that pours
off of them. When they go running by the pit the sweat flies right off of
them.
Madonna was great all night. She is so beautiful and I was so surprised how
tiny she is. She is so precise in all of her moves. My boyfriend went to the
show with me and he was so impressed by her stage performance. We are going
to try to go to NJ on Thursday night to see her. I was a bit upset when one
of the first times during the night she came over to the pit she grabbed my
boyfriends hand…I turned around and was yelling at him (HA HA) telling him
not to reach over me again. Then it happened…about 20 minutes later-she
walked over to the pit and actually bent down a bit and grabbed my hand (I am
short) she held it for what felt like forever but was probably close to 15
seconds or so….but she looked me right in my eyes…I looked up at her and
said thank you she winked and walked away. That was the best moment of my
life. I swear my heart stopped beating the whole time she was holding my
hand. The security guard that was in the pit asked me if I needed to lean on
him or sit down cause I looked like I was in shock.
The night was great, the crowd was great and I am so so so happy!!!! I was in
NYC for the June 20th show but nothing will ever compare to the pit.
I have enjoyed hearing everyone’s stories about the show and I hope you enjoy
mine. I also hope to see some pictures from Philly. A friend of mine called
me on Monday and said they did a little segment on the 11 PM news and you saw
Madonna laying on the stage and you could see me and my boyfriend right
behind her…I would love to see this but the TV station is charging $60.00
for the tape.
