Into the Pit
“I had a regular 157 dollar seat in sec 211 for Saturday night in Vegas anyway and I knew that MTV had the pit pass giveaway going on, and I had read the rules and I was one of the lucky ones to email Mrs Henry and get a reply from both her and her assistant.
I had asked Caresse if she could put me on the waiting list for back-up pit winners for those who were a no-show in Las Vegas. It was out of her hands for it was MTV doing the pit pass give away. But she told me who to ask for and what do & also said good luck on winning.
I got up to the MGM Garden Arena right before 7 PM on Saturday May 29, and I found the two girls at the VIP Entrance, they were taking care of the VIP Platinum ticket people, a cute Asian and Caucasian girl. They told me to find the lady in charge of the pit passes, whom her name I won’t give out! I found her and just asked for an extra pit pass!
I knew they had given out extra pit passes in LA because not all of the pit pass winners had shown up. So that helped to mention as well to the pit lady. She put on my hand first before all the other pit winners!
I had to wait until 8 PM to be seated with the other pit pass winners, most of whom had been called on Tuesday. May 25 and were told they won and to come to Vegas to see Madonna in the pit area. The show didn’t start until 8:30 and the show lasted 1 hour and 57 mins long, we were told this in the pits from the MGM & Madonna’s security.
It was well worth the wait! I had to check in my tour book and Madonna T-shirt into the camera check in for nothing was allowed in the pits, even our cell phones had to be turned off, for we were told cells would interfere with Madonna’s headset.
No drinks or food were allowed into the two pit sections. There only seemed to be ten people in our right pit section, facing the out to the crowd, and we were told security was gonna ask people already seated down if they wanted to come into the pit sec to fill them up before 8:30. To cool! It did fill for sure, both sides!
I was lucky enough during Nobody Knows Me to reach up my right and have Madonna pass by on the conveyer belt and give me a high five! That was me if you saw on the monitors or from the audience whom she touched first on Saturday in Vegas! I felt so embarresed and I know that I turned red for the others in the pit all patted me on the back and shouted, “SHE TOUCHED YOU!”
She did touch the rest of the pit pass folks later in the show, who were standing near the front. I was on the very conner right pit facing the audience, or if Madonna was facing the audience I was to her right in the pit on the center corner closest to her.
The rest of the dancers and even Donna bend over to us, waved and grabbed our hands in the pit section as well! It was the best feeling in the world to be there in the pit, especially to see Madonna behind the scenes and see her hung and kiss her dancers after she performed Holiday and the two side video screens had blocked the front audience view after the show. We could see Madonna when she was gonna come before Vogue and a few other songs, when she would sink under the stage and other dancers would get ready to be lifted up on stage.
I saw Madonna so close that i could see the clear body glitter she had on! It was so fantastic and incredible!!! The two side moving screens went right over our heads in the pits a few times, they seemed to just inches away from our heads, very scary! All of us in the pits kept waving to Madonna and her dancers during the show, especially when they would get so close to us! I even shouted “I love you Madonna!” a few times and I blew her a few kisses as well.
If you can get pit passes or be so lucky to get an extra one, its well worth it! You don’t get to see much of the video production esepcially like for The Beast Within but its well worth it and a small price to pay to get to see and be with Madonna on her stage! I also had floor seats & went the second night at the MGM as well and i did get to see many of the visuals that I had missed the night before in the pit. So I saw the show from both aspects, from the pit section and the floor section!”
