Labour Minister doesn’t want Madonna as neighbour
Labour Minister Lord Sainsbury has bought his next door neighbour’s £3 million London home.
The Science Minister has snapped up the luxury pad which adjoins his own townhouse, a spokesman confirmed today.
But he denied reports it was because he and Lady Sainsbury feared pop star Madonna might move in leading to an intrusive media circus in the road in upmarket Holland Park, west London.
The peer, who is the great grandson of the supermarket founders, has not revealed what he plans to do with his current home.
The spokesman said: “Lord Sainsbury has bought the house next door but it is because it is bigger and he and his wife plan to move into it.
I do not know what he plans to do with the existing property.”
