Liz Smith on the Versace campaign
After People and US Weekly, here’s another mention of the upcoming Versace campaign in the US press, this one penned by Liz Smith‘s column on today’s New York Post, who reprises in her very unique style the news coming from US Weekly.
“Madonna, according to US Weekly, earned $10.5 million to pose as the centerpiece of Versace’s upcoming spring print advertising campaign. She also gets use of the Versace mansion in Milan and free clothes for the next two years. Who needs hit songs?
The US Weekly report insists Madonna “barked orders” throughout the shoot. (We are sure she said “please” and “thank you” before and after each and every bark.) But M did halt the session for a half-hour Kabbalist prayer meditation, “Rosh Chodesh for the moon in Sagittarius … it ushers in a period of good fortune.”
A period of good fortune? Ms. Ciccone has had nothing but good fortune since she told Dick Clark back in 1983 that she wanted to “rule the world.” And now, she has God on her side, which makes her George W. Bush in a bustier.
