Madonna Continental Arena – 7th of July Show Echi New Jersey Review
“Dear beautiful strangers, and MadonnaMust Fans,
Here’s my review of Madonna’s show last night (Wednesday, July 7th) at Continental Arena in New Jersey, USA.
Like my previous reviews, I will mainly point out last nights difference’s from the other show’s on this tour. Here goes :
Last night (my 15th show on this tour), was the first time I saw any fans/audience members doing “the wave” across & around the arena, before the show started. So you heard alot of cheering before the show started.
Sadly most of the crowd’s cheering energy was used for the “wave” and not Madonna’s show. If only they could have cheered like that thru out the show.
Madonna started the show at 8:50pm.
During “Material Girl” she told the crowd “let’s blow the roof outta this place”.
Madonna had “two” mishaps last night. During “Like A Prayer” she messed up on a few lyrics. Also during “Into The Groove“, she dropped her stick (and it wasn’t her first time on this tour dropping that stick).
Surprisely she didn’t hit, nor did she try doing the high notes she usually does towards the very end of “Mother & Father“. High notes that always gather cheers from the audiences.
After “Papa Don’t Preach (Cause Danny Echi really loves me)”, she mentioned how hot it is, and for the first time on this tour “wipped her armpits with a white towel”.
In my opinion the audience was low in energy for the most part (compare to other audiences in othe cities). I’m not saying they were a bad audience, but they seemed a bit reserved or maybe they were worn out from their sitting down and standing up doing the wave experience.
Also out of all the show’s I’ve seen on this tour, Madonna‘s vocal’s were the weakiest so far on this tour. Not and I repeat not that she couldn’t sing, but if I had to list or grade “vocal points/performance” from best to low”, last night’s show was the lowest.
Now what made my night extra special tonight was my seat, and who sat by me.
A n y g u e s s e s ? ? ?

My seat was three seats in towards the aisle end seat , right next to the soundboard on the floor, towards the back of the orchestra in the center.
Sitting four seats from me, two rows back were: Guy Ritchie, Lola, and Rocco (Madonna’s husband, and children). Oh my god!!! Oh my god!!!!!!!!! Towards the end of “The Beast Within Intro“, I noticed a little girl standing. She reminded me of Lola. She was standing up, wearing a long sleevepink shirt, and her hair was long. I stared and stared, and told myself taht looks like Lola. Two minutes later I noticed “Rocco” sitting next to her, sitting on his father’s shoulders. Sitting next to Guy was one of the main Kabalah’s Rabbi (I forgot his name). Guy wore a short sleeve black polo shirt, with beige shorts, and a fisherman’s / bucket hat with full bear grown in. I couldn’t believe my eyes, so close. It felt special to be right by them. I had no camera.
It looked like no one noticed them at all, besides the two ladies I was sitting with. The three of us shared the same high from witnessing Madonna’s children. I stared alot. Lola didn’t sing along but did dance & move. Towards the end of the songs she clapped. For some songs she got up and for some songs she sat down. Sitting next to Lola was a woman who I think was Madonna’s gal pal “Ingrid Casares” or maybe just a nanny. It looked like Ingrid but this woman had very very long hair, reddish & organe-ish. So I wasn’t sure if it was Ingrid or not. Behind this woman sat Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s long time publicist and gal pal. Surprisingly no one bother the Ritche’s & friends. Rocco laughed and looked like a really happy kid. He’s adorable. The time was 9:30pm and right after “Hollywood” ended, they all got up and left. I assume it was the kid’s bedtime???
The Rabbi stayed and he was the only one in the group that got up and dance during the show (other than Lola). Towards the end of “Nothing Fails” Guy, friends, and security returned to their seats, without the kids. I moved up one row and took a empty seat towards the end of the aisle so I could dance and really move. Guy and the crew noticed me and dancing & singing. Guy looked right at me at few times. I’ve run into Guy before, and I won’ t say he’s not nice, he probably is but he doesn’t seem to enjoy any passion for his wife’s fans. He doesn’t like being bothered by them.
During the “Crazy For You” intro Madonna thanked her fans “for sticking by me for the last 20 mother fucking years”.
I stared at Guy while she said this and he and the group around him all smile and laughed after she said that. After “Music“, Guy got up and life with a large entourage of friends and security. Liz and a friend stayed in their seats for the last song “Holiday“. During “Holiday” Liz started clapping in her seat. I went up to her and asked her to get up, get up & dance, but she didn’t. I was surprised she didn’t. I myself actually danced with Liz in the pit for three songs, during Madonna’s first MSG show in New York City.
That night Liz sang every word of “Into The Groove” and “Papa Don’t Preach” with me. Sadly this time she didn’t dance with me. As “Holiday” ended, Liz got up and left with a long blond hair lady.
Sitting next to Madonna’s friends, and family gave me a huge rush, and made my night another memorable great night. Seeing her greatness again tonight in New Jersey. I’ll report back with you tomorrow.
Spreading beautiful positive energy –
