Madonna Debuts New T-Shirt in Miami
“Hey again Madonnatribe!
It’s 1.45 a.m. in Miami and I just got home from my second Re-Invention concert.
Boy, if I had fun the first time, my second time around was even better. Madonna was a very good mood, very happy to be on stage, and very happy to be in Miami. I was in the crowd at night 2 in Fort Lauderdale, and you could see she was a bit ticked off from night 1 (the crowd had been kind, well, dorky and lazy). But as she told us that night, we changed her energy.
Well, no change of energy needed at the American Airlines Arena on Sunday – Madonna was once again rockin’!
Except for the foul weather outside, which only made get into the AAA even worse (they have to get it together and control the crowd better), the night was awesome and just what I needed. I was particularly feeling blue in the afternoon, but Madonna lifted my spirits, and then some. I took my friend James (I really wanted him to see Madonna!!!), and I was very happy (really…urgh…LOL) that other friends had 4th row tickets (lucky suckers!).
Once again, the crowd went wild when “Vogue” came on. This time around I had upper level tickets, which allowed me to enjoy the show from a different perspective. And once again, not even God could make me sit down or keep me quiet. I loved “Nobody Knows Me” and I’m looking forward to that song quite a bit on Monday.
“American Life” brought the house up, but I was very surprised a lot of the upper levels sat down during “Burning Up“! WHAT IS WRONG MIAMI, YOU BETTER STEP IT UP ON MONDAY (her last night in America with this tour) OR STAY HOME.
Madonna was very happy and very chatty. During “Material Girl” she asked Miami to help with the lyrics, and at point she said something like “You see what you made me do! I forgot them!”
Now on for the urgh moments. During “Hanky Panky” and most of that section people were just like, sitting, and acting annoyed in several sections around. At one point I was the only one standing! A couple of sections down there were many who didn’t seat at all – way to go, guys! – but really, she said so herself – she’s down there working her ass off and you sit down? Come on!
During “Nothing Fails,” which I absolutely live for, my whole section sat down. I was beyond annoyed and stayed up. The girls behind me even asked my friend to sit, which he obliged to “for one song” and quickly told them I was most definitely not going to take a seat. They tapped on my shoulder and asked, and I said “Sorry, I just can’t”. The looks on their faces were priceless, but then they suggested I go stand in the aisle! I said if I did that I would be sent back to my seat. I should’ve suggested they go seat in the aisle. But my string kept me wise.
Anyway, Madonna then introduced the no-sitting-song, “Like a Prayer,” and pointed to the “rich people” in the front row who were sitting up and told them to get up. (She did the same during “Deeper and Deeper.”) Also, while “Imagine” struck a chord with the crowd, not many got really into it.
The one perk about higher up seats is that I got to fully view the choreography for “Into The Groove,” which rocks, and “Papa Don’t Preach.” After “Papa” she took a moment to once again address us and urge us to vote and “take responsibility.”
Then she debuted her new T-shirt which read “Vote or Die?“. And off she went to her finale combo of “Music” and “Holiday,” which I had to admit left me feeling a wee bit short-changed on July 29 when I had floor tickets, but from up above were completely awesome.
All and all, another solid 46 on a 0 to 10 scale for Madonna. She put me in a better mood, she made me dance, she made me sing, and of course left me wanting more. I can’t wait for Monday night.”
Special thanks to Martin for sharing his experience with the Tribe.
