Madonna makes history in Portugal
Nine hours were enough for the 15 thousand tickets for the Madonna concert in Lisbon – September 13 at the Atlantic Pavillion – to sell out.
Something that never happened before in Portugal for a show of its kind, that led the local promoter, Música no Coração, to announce what the Correio de Manhã revealed a week ago. “Madonna bisa no Atlântico” (Madonna doubles at the Atlântico).
As a result, the second concert has been confirmed for September 14 and tickets went on sale this morning at 10.
Yesterday it just went crazy. Five minutes after the ticket sales started, more than 1,000 tickets were sold already. They then became 6,500 at 1pm and at 6.30 pm there were none left.
As Correio de Manhã noticed at the Fnac of Colombo in Lisbon – where at 2 pm more than 700 tickets were sold already – the more expensive ones were the first to be gone. “The first client bought 16 tickets at 151 € each”, said Isabel Figueiredo, from the shop’s Customer Service, and the que in front of the door of Colombo started at about 6 am.
