Madonna, Maverick, Warner and a possible Spoiler/Joke about the tour book
Music industry news portal Hits Daily Double features today two articles about Madonna and a major spoiler about the tour, well sort of.
Spoiler included at the end of this news item
Madonna Wannabe Subdued
Although she released a statement to the press calling Warner Music Group‘s legal action against her label “treasonous,” Madonna has otherwise toned down the vitriol in her dispute with the mothership.
According to some, the reticence is a possible outgrowth of her ongoing studies of the Kaballah. In fact, the Material-turned-Spiritual Gal is refusing to schedule shows on Friday nights during her upcoming SRO tour to observe the Sabbath.
Maverick Moving Onward
Meanwhile, Maverick Records isn’t allowing its ongoing dispute with Warner Music Group to slow it down. Madonna’s label has been heating up lately, with the new Alanis Morissette album hitting retail next week and expected to debut in the Top 5, while promising newcomers Story of the Year look set to be a huge breakthrough act.
Rather than taking his focus away from the label, Guy Oseary says his new pact with leading Hollywood talent agency Untitled promises to offer increased opportunities for the label’s artists in the areas of film and TV.
As reported here, the label is about to formalize an agreement with Atlantic A&R exec Kevin Williamson, while Madonna‘s upcoming tour is the summer’s hot ticket.
Spoiler/Joke
But the “true spoiler” about the re-Invention tour comes unexpectedly from the caption of the small Madonna picture that illustrates the two articles above.
The caption reads: “Madonna: Her tour program will read from right to left. ”
Then, it looks like that the Kabbalah concept involves not only the contents of the tour and the tourbook, but the editing itself. In fact, from right to left is how you read in Hebrew.
