Madonna on Idol Shows
Madonna believes in positive attitude to educate and select new talents. As you could see from the exclusive MadonnaTribe preview of her appearance on the forthcoming Missy Elliott show, Madonna prefers giving sisterly advices to young talents rather than offend them as it happens on shows such as American Idol or Pop Idol.
Madonna admitted to a reporter from Abc Radio Networks yesterday in a wide-ranging interview, parts of which are expected to air on as many as 3,000 ABC affiliates around the U.S. today, that she thinks the way contestants in such shows are treated is bad.
“I think people are obsessed with other people’s failures or heartaches and I think it gives people a certain kind of a thrill to watch them [contestants on ‘Idol’] go down,” she said.
Asked about shows like “Idol” and its U.K. predecessor “Pop Idol” Madonna said, “I don’t like them.”
Would she want either of the talent shows to devote a episode to her music as they have with other artists?
“No, certainly not,” Madonna said.
