Madonna rocks Toronto – but don’t call her Esther!
“I was fortunate enough to attend two of Madonna’s shows in Toronto. The Sunday night, July 18th one, and last night’s, Wednesday July 21.
Some things that were different last night:
• She coughed during “Frozen“, making her miss a line
• During the “I have no Shame!” part in “Burning Up“,
her voice cracked a bit and she said, “oh shit!”
• During “Express Yourself“, she said, “Are you ready?
I said, ARE YOU MOTHER FUCKERS READY?” The crowd went ballastic over this.
• She was laughing a lot during the show, especially
during “Material Girl” where she forgot the words to an entire verse and just laughed her way through while the audience sang. “I forgot the words!” she exclaimed
• She talked to the audience a lot more than the 1st
night. She said things like, “If I knew Toronto was gonna be so fun, I would’ve stayed for months!”
• She said “Let’s stay here all night! You can stage a protest! Hell no we won’t go! I can sing all my songs!”
• During the “American Life reprise“, she sang “Do I have to change my name?” and said “Well, I did, but you don’t have to call me by it!” She continued to say “Don’t call me Esther!” and laughed. She sang, “Am I gonna be a star?” and said, “Well that’s pretty obvious…” and then she said, “This is so
unprofessional, but I don’t give a shit!”
It was a fantastic evening! She absolutely ROCKED the city!”
