Madonna sets her sights on Israel
The following article is the first one in English reporting this news. Yesterday, Golan a Madonna Tribe forum member had reported this news from sources in Hebrew in our forums.
March 01 – The world’s most famous student of Kabala is planning to head for Israel this summer: Madonna has put Israel on her schedule for an upcoming concert tour. According to the Hebrew daily Yediot Aharonot, the precise dates of the Israeli concerts have yet to be determined. The 45-year-old pop star has said several times over the past year that she would like to visit Israel, and it had been rumored that she had a desire to film a music video on location. Her last visit took place in 1993, when she held a large concert in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park. The planned tour would be Madonna’s first in four years, and will reportedly include Europe and wrap up in Israel. The Foreign Ministry told the newspaper that discussions were underway regarding the possibility of welcoming Madonna as an official guest of the ministry, in what would presumably be a solidarity visit as well as an opportunity to perform.
The newspaper said that there was a possibility that Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom would discuss the visit with Madonna in a meeting during Shalom’s upcoming visit to Los Angeles. On that trip, Shalom will reportedly meet with newly elected California governor Arnold Schwartznegger, and prominent figures in the entertainment industry.
