Madonna ticket sales marks record in Portugal
Tickets for the second Madonna concert in Lisbon – that went on sale yesterday at 10 am – are almost sold out, with only 1,200 entrances left, according to the local promoter of the tour, Música no Coração.
The show, scheduled for September 14 in the Atlantic Pavilion in Lisbon, was added right after tickets for the first concert, that will take place the night before, sold out in nine hours, marking a record of sales for Portugal that was practically repeated today. According to the promoter, the capacity of 16,000 places reserved in the Atlantic Pavilion for Septmeber 14 “are expected to sell out before the end of the day”.
For the second concert “already 3,000 tickets have been sold to foreign customers, that means an estimated request of 1,000 beds in the Hotels”. Tickets were priced from 51 to 161 €.
The two Lisbon gigs are part of the “Re-Invention World Tour” that Madonna started in the US in May.
On August 14 and 15 Madonna will bring her show to Europe, performing in Manchester, United Kingdom, with further stops in London, the Republic of Ireland, France and Holland.
Lisbon is the last city of the tour schedule and ends a series of more than 50 concerts.
On stage, the queen of pop will perform hits from her entire 20 years career, including “Holiday”, “Papa Don’t Preach”, “Like the Prayer”, and the recent “Music” and “American Life”. With several costume changes, signed by acclaimed stylist like Karl Lagerfield, Stella McCartney, Jean Paul Gaultier and Prada, the singer performs with ten dancers, a 100 people crew and ten tons of equipment.
To celebrate the concerts, the Portuguese fan club is going to organize a convention in Lisbon.
