Madonna to get biblical?
Israel’s Palestinians and Jews apparently don’t have enough to worry about. Now they may have to brace themselves for an invasion by Madonna.
Her Madge-sty is thinking about performing in the war-wracked land this summer as part of her first world tour in four years. The risktaking singer is said to want to mount her show at Solomon’s Pillars in the southern Arava desert.
Madonna’s spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, tells us, “Nothing has been confirmed. Not even the tour.” But she says a stop in Israel is “definitely under consideration.”
The “Swept Away” star last visited Israel in 1993, when she played Tel Aviv. Since then, the Catholic girl has immersed herself in the mystical Jewish teachings of the kabbalah.
In 2002, she angered some devout Jews with her video for for the Bond film “Die Another Day” – in which she wore sacramental tefillin and had Hebrew symbols tattooed on her arm.
