More on Lisbon affaire: It’s not about Madonna
Tânia Tadeu, who organizes the Mana church convention happening in Lisbon from September 8th to the 11th, Told portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticias that is “completely out the question to change dates or venue”. In year 2004 the Mana church celebrates their 20 year anniversay, and international members have confirmed their presence at the Atlantic Pavillion which is “the only venue suitable and equiped with proper facilities” to host the annual reunion, that is on schedule “since a long time”.
“The dates were reserved and every payment was made, this situation came out later”, states Tadeu, adding that “it’s not for being Madonna” and that “it’s not about money”. “We talked to Mr. Ricardo Casimiro and we explained that it’s not up to us, but it’s completely impossible to modify the schedule of this international event. That would be, from our part, unrespectful and unresponsible towards our guests, companies and all the people involved, because everything has been settled”.
A source close to the Parque Expo told Diario de Noticias that “the Mana church is a client like any other and nobody can be forced to change dates”. But gives hope that “as there’s still plenty of time until the events, every attempt will be made in order to make both things happen.”
