New Article in the Italian Issue of Rolling Stone Magazine
The Italian edition of Rolling Stone magazine has published an article on the re-Invention tour with a full page photo of Madonna during Lament.
Here’s a translation of the article provided by the MadonnaTribe Team.
The first leg of the Reinvention Tour is almost over. Madonna and her dancers dance wildly on a futuristic catwalk that extends itself beyond the stage, over the crowd.
Disco lights and an expolosion of confetti all over the arena.
Madonna won: “Music makes the people come together.Music makes the bourgeoise and the rebel”.
The audience is in true extasy. No encore. After Holiday, the amazed and adoring fans don’t want to leave. But the screens are closing like a theatre curtain.
The whole show is a metaphore of Madonna‘s furious fight against time. She never looked so beautiful, so full of energy, embracing her own diverse musical past.
She sings live (and beautifuly) and for 90% of the show she dances, she moves like an acrobat, she acts (better than on the big screen), plays guitar, changes costumes and cheers the audience with such a strenght and character that have something supernatural.
On her face, you can see the same pain and intensity of Marlene Dietrich during her last concert in 1975.
Marlene was wearing a dress especially designed by Jean Louis.
Madonna asked Miu Miu, Lagerfeld and Gaultier shoes and costumes that bring out her most glamorous side but at the same time they are atlethic and explosive.
Marlene had in her eyes a melanconic look and the sarcastic resignation of someone who knows that time can’t be stopped. After that concert she retired and handed her myth to immortality.
Madonna knows that we live in a more vain time, capable of having no memory.
That’s why we will see her again in a new chapter of the fight against time and
the acting of her own self
