Driving rain pierced Christie‘s hangar-like hall in London’s South Kensington district yesterday, during the three-hour
auction of pop memorabilia.
Records, letters, posters and toys relating to pop stars from Elvis to Madonna took in a total 788,643 pounds.
A leather collar worn by John Lennon, including at the 1967 London launch party for the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts’ Club Band” album, fetched 117,250 pounds ($210,000) from a telephone bidder
