Rare Italian Magazine Covers
Here were are, back with our weekly corner in which we show our readers High Quality scans of vintage and/or rare Madonna magazine covers.
Today we take a look at a selection of six rare covers from Italy. The first two are from the first edition of Italian Vanity Fair Magazine.
Vanity Fair Italia was launched in Italy in 1990 as a monthly magazine, but Italian readers were apparently not ready for this kind of magazine and after a couple of years this magazine left Italian newsstands for a while, to return as a sucessful weekly magazine just last year.
Madonna, photographed by Helmut Newton and Steven Meisel was on the cover of the original Italian Vanity Fair on July 1990 and June 1991.
All these Italian covers are very sought after by collectors of Madonna magazines usually reaching big prices when they appear on Ebay. The following two are the first number of GQ Italia, launched on October 1999 with Sting embracing Madonna on the cover and Glamour Italia, which came out on November 1992 reprising the Steven Meisel photos from the American Vanity Fair.
Tv Sorrisi & Canzoni and Sette Magazine, managed to present two exclusive covers to fans. Sorrisi used a previously unreleased beautiful close up of Madonna and Max Factor commercial co-star Raul Bova in July 1999, while Sette,
from August 2000 featured an exclusive portfolio by Fabrizio Ferri of Madonna and Guy Ritchie on holiday in the Italian island of Pantelleria, while the couple was expecting Rocco.
