Slane is coming soon
There’s only the official confirmation from Madonna’s online website, madonna.com missing, but according to the latest media reports
Irish promoter MCD have announced that Madonna will definitely bring her re-Invention World Tour to Slane Castle on Sunday August 29.
Music website HotPress.com revealed yesterday that tickets will go on sale at 8.00 am on Friday June 18 priced € 88.50, a price that compares very favourably to how much charged last year by other musical legends as Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones, stopping tabloid speculation that they might be as much as € 150.
Irish newspaper Sunday Independent also brings the news that gates will open at around 2.00 pm and there will possibly be supporting acts beginning at around 4.00 pm
As MadonnaTribe readers know, Slane Castle – the only open air event of the tour – has been included in the re-Invention schedule from the very beginning, listed for Sunday 29th August 2004, but was waiting for the green light by the local authorities.
The Meath County Council website does not show any information about their final decision on the subject at the moment. The anticipated number of audience attending the event is expected to be up to 80,000 people.
