Something Came Over the Night Before
The Madonna Tribe Team is just back from the event extravaganza organized by our friend Ibrahim Mustafa at The Bloosbury theatre in London. It started at 8 pm with the projection on a cinematic screen of a selection of Madonna’s greatest tv moments, from Live Aid clips to famous Mtv performances of Vogue in 1990 and Like A Virgin/Hollywood in 2003. People were happy, clapping and singing along to the songs. After a short break a funny contest to choose the best Madonna look a like of the evening was held.
The girls were dressed up as “Susan”, American Life Madonna, Gap Madonna, Lucky Star Madonna, Don’t tell me Madonna and Like a Prayer Madonna. A guy named Fernando also took part to the contest dressed us as “Drowned World Tour Madonna”.
And the winner was….. Susan/Madonna.
Before the second part of projections of Madonna live performances, Mustafa took time to thank all the people who worked to put up this nice event.
Meanwhile Mem Mehmet the author that compiled “Madonna in Art” was presenting his book in the theatre’s lobby. Mem told us he’s very happy with the success the book is having and also about the great promotion the Uk papers are doing to it.
We asked Mem about the Us release of “Madonna in Art” as we received a lot of emails from American Tribers asking that. Mem says the book might come out in America anyday now. Stay tuned because Madonna Tribe will also feature very soon an exclusive interview with Mem Mehmet.
The event ended with a mini concert of “Material Girl” aka Allison, a girl that has got the moves, the motions and a great voice, that sang many Madonna classics such as Express Yourself, Material Girl, Don’t Tell Me, Like A Prayer and Holiday, while all the people started to sing along and dance.
Special thanks to Ibrahim Mustafa and Mem Mehmet
