Something to remember
There are already a few things in the re-Invention tour shows that set to become a sort of “trademarks” for this one tour. They are the kind of moments people will remember about, curiosities, or simply those simple things that make you able to recognize one show from another along memory lane. Things like “the show when she said this” or “the one when she changed this for this”.
The first one is, Madonna doesn’t want people to remain seated, especially the ones in the front rows. In several shows she addressed the crowd saying they had to stand up – no sitting down. “When I’m up, you should be up, if I sit, you can sit, Ok?”
The second “instant-classic” of the tour is Madonna loosing track of the lyrics of “Material Girl“, that sometimes turns out to be quite funny. On the second night in Las Vegas, just after the verse “if they can’t raise my interest, then I’ll have too let them be'”, she didn’t remember what was next. She later said: “you know, going back, the pearl bracelets, the fur, the black sunglasses… yeah, you know what I mean.”
A third moment to remember in the show is Madonna dedicating “Crazy For You” to her fans. She’s been using slightly different quotes in every show.During the first Las Vegas show she said, “this is for my fans who have stuck by me through thick and thin”, while the day after she said; “this is for my fans who have stuck by my side for the last 20 years, I love you!”
Both Ingrid Casares and Guy Oseray were spotted in the crowd during the Las Vegas shows. On May 30, the audience was much better than the night before, as Madonna herself commented “you guys are better than last night’s crowd!”
Special thanks to our friends at fellow fansite madonnapolis.com and their reporters from the Las Vegas shows of the re-Invention tour, Jorge & Rob and Kristy and to our friend deli for this picture.
